We invite you to become a member of our club and become involved in this exciting, challenging, and satisfying hobby.
The club requires you to first become a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics before you can join the Lake Sawyer Hawks. Your AMA membership will be confirmed by AMA, so it's not necessary to send card image with your membership application. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31.
New or renewing members may join after October 1 for the remaining current year and the next annual dues period from January 1 to December 31 by paying the annual dues rate. In all cases members must have current AMA membership to fly.
All flying members must have AMA membership, and pending final law, FAA / UAS registration, and sign a copy of the Membership Application each year. Typing your legal name into the signature box on this webpage form is the equivalent of signing the printed form. The preferred method to renew or join the Hawks is to pay your fee via PayPal at this address: firstname.lastname@example.org using "Send money to friends and family" to avoid the Hawks paying a service charge. If your PayPal account is not your legal name please add your legal name in the "Add a note" field of your PayPal payment so we can properly record the payment.
Please fill out completely and sign the website Membership Application form Each year. Use Windows "Print to PDF" or Mac OS X "Save to PDF" (instructions below). If you do not have PayPal, you may mail a check payable to Lake Sawyer Hawks to Gabe Hanzeli at 31735 224th PL SE, Black Diamond, WA 98010. No cash payments will be accepted by mail or at the meetings.
If you do not have a PayPal account, create a PayPal account at www.paypal.com. In PayPal link your bank account and load the account from your bank account with enough money to pay your fees. It usually takes 3 to 5 days for your PalPal account to load. Then in PayPal pay the fee to email@example.com using "Send money to friends and family" to avoid the Hawks paying a service charge.
Note: Only AMA membership and FAA / UAS number along with owners name and contact information, and agreeing to sign the attendance list and follow the Float Site Rules are required to fly at the Float Fly site (Ferdinand Boat Launch) on Lake Washington.
Please sign in at both of our flying sites to provide usage data that supports our use agreements with King County and the Seattle Park Departments. This information is only provided to our site providers or to law enforcement on request. Lake Sawyer Hawks will not provide membership information to any other persons or organizations unless requested in writing by a member requesting release of their data.
You are welcomed and encouraged to attend our meetings or visit our flying sites to see what we are all about before joining. Starting January 2018, our meetings are held at Marlow Anderson R/C Airfield on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 1:00pm in January, April, July, August, September (club picnic), October (election of officers), and November (Holiday Party). In case of severe weather, please check the website or contact a club officer. Looking forward to seeing you at one of our flying sites!

In consideration for the right to participate in LAKES SAWYER HAWKS CLUB activities, I HEREBY RELEASE THE HAWKS CLUB AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, INSTRUCTORS, MEMBERS, AND KING COUNTY FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH MY PARTICIPATION IN ANY HAWKS CLUB ACTIVITIES AND FURTHER AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE HAWKS CLUB AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, INSTRUCTORS, MEMBERS, AND KING COUNTY FROM ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION WHICH I MAY HAVE ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN HAWKS CLUB ACTIVITIES. The terms of this agreement will serve as a release and indemnity agreement for my heirs, personal representative, and for all members of my family, including minors.
I further state that I am (19) years of age or older and legally competent to sign this release, that I understand these terms are contractual and not mere recital, and that I have signed this document as my own free act. Parents or legal guardians must sign for all persons under eighteen (19) years of age.
